<特徴>
白州砂利とは、甲斐駒ヶ岳の麓で採取された砂利のことをいいます。白川砂利(京都)は、昔から全国的に知名度があり、多くの場所で使用されていますが、同様に白州砂利も昔からよく多くの場所で使用されてきました。白州の石は、明治神宮の創建時から、拝殿中庭に使用されている御霊石として奉納され現在も奉納が続けられています。
類似する白川砂利と同様に、風化御影で、いわゆる御影石が自然風化してザクザクの砂利状になったものです。歴史のあるこの砂利は、色々なシーンでご利用いただけると思います。
写真のように、御影石の特徴である、白を貴重とした母材に、黒の雲母点が散らばった表情は、馴染深くて、それでいて存在感もあるので、演出しやすい砂利かと思います。
甲斐駒ヶ岳に行ったことがある方はわかるかもしれないですが、山頂をあることザクザクと音がして、そうしたことから、ザレと言います。

Hakushu gravel refers to gravel collected at the foot of Mount Kaikoma. While Shirakawa gravel (Kyoto) has long been nationally renowned and used in many locations, Hakushu gravel has similarly been widely used for many years. Stones from Hakushu have been dedicated as sacred stones for the inner courtyard of the worship hall at Meiji Shrine since its founding, and this dedication continues to this day.
Similar to the comparable Shirakawa gravel, it is weathered granite—essentially granite that has naturally eroded into a coarse, gravel-like state. This historically significant gravel can be utilized in various settings.
As seen in the photo, its appearance—characteristic of granite, with a white base material accented by scattered black mica flecks—is both familiar and striking, making it a versatile gravel for design purposes.
Those who have visited Mount Kaikoma may recognize the crunching sound made when walking on its summit, which is why it's called “Zare” gravel.
